Abstract
A 1.7 meter long juvenile male Indian Rock Python (Python molurus molurus) weighing 5.5 kg was presented at the District Veterinary Centre, Kannur with severely lacerated wound on the left caudal one-third of the body after trauma by a back-hoe ladder. Clinical examination revealed coelomic rupture with evisceration of intestines and testes. Surgical reduction of eviscerated organs and repair of ruptured abdominal wall was performed under butorphanol-xylazine-ketamine anesthesia. The skin wound healed completely by the 4th postoperative week.
